Closing argument: Yes for a better state
Fair Tax Amendment raises critical revenue by slightly hiking tax rate for those making more than $250K; it really is that simple
By Ameya Pawar and Ted Cox
Just over two and a half years ago, we launched One Illinois to bring people together and bridge race, class, and geography. Our position has always been that we have our differences across Illinois, but we have much more in common to unite us than what tends to divide us.
The Fair Tax is a way to bring the entire state together by funding the programs that benefit all Illinoisans, while providing tax relief to the vast majority of working families, farmers, and small-business owners making up to $250,000 a year, simply by asking those earning more to pay a slightly higher tax rate.
